Sales Engineering
Mentorship Program
NAASE is developing a mentorship program that would connect sales engineers for structured, one-to-one professional guidance.
WHY MENTORSHIP
What Sales Engineering
Mentorship Can Offer
This program will focus on professional growth rather than product-specific technical training. As an independent professional association, NAASE aims to create an employer-neutral setting where participants can discuss real challenges openly and constructively.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
How Would You Like to Take Part?
I Want to Find a Mentor
Learn from an experienced sales engineer who understands the realities of the profession. A mentor can help you reflect on decisions, see situations from another angle, and develop the judgment and confidence that grow through experience.
Mentorship may be especially valuable if you are early in your sales engineering career, moving into the profession, taking on new responsibilities, or considering your next career step. You do not need a complete development plan. Curiosity and openness to feedback are a strong place to start.
I Want to Become a Mentor
Experienced sales engineers carry knowledge that cannot be captured in a certification or handbook. Mentoring is an opportunity to turn that experience into practical support for someone earlier in the profession.
Being a mentor is not about having every answer. It is about listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing relevant perspective. It can also help you strengthen your own leadership, listening, and coaching skills while giving back to the sales engineering community.
EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE PROGRAM
A Practical Program, Guided by Experience
NAASE is developing the program with guidance from Jeff Silver, co-author of Mastering the Art of Sales Engineering. Jeff has developed and led mentorship frameworks at two organizations, and he is bringing that practical experience to the program.
The current working model is a centrally coordinated, one-to-one match for an initial six-month period, with a one-hour conversation every other week. The proposed program would also include mentor preparation, a shared conversation framework, clear confidentiality expectations, participant matching, and regular feedback.
These details are still being developed. Timing, eligibility, and final participation requirements may change before launch. Registering your interest helps NAASE understand demand and plan the pilot responsibly. It does not guarantee a match.
